Wind of change for CaterMate!

CaterMate's growth continues to be strong and in addition four new investors have jumped in to develop our operations. One of our key objectives as a company is to improve the reputation of waitering in the industry and tackle the staffing shortage by training new waiters to the industry. The investments enable us to focus on new solutions in the HoReCa sector, including a new digital platform and online training programs.

Following the pandemic, CaterMate has grown rapidly CaterMate has expanded to operate in three cities with a team of over 200 waiters. The number of partners has also increased by 60% during the year. After COVID-19 struck, we developed the LunchMate concept, which saved us and some of our partners during the pandemic, but now it's time to put growth in a new gear. We share a common vision with the four investors who joined our journey, and the investment enables the development and optimization of our operations. The most significant development target is our own digital platform, which will serve all our stakeholders and enable the digitization of waiter training. These reforms will offer a solution to many challenges related to the industry, and will help us grow and develop in the future as well.

When the idea of ​​a digital platform started to materialize, we decided to map out the involvement of external experts in our operations. We identified the need for solid digital skills and previous experience working on similar projects. We met just the right people. We contacted Pekka Aakko, the founder of Assembly, and Turo Nummis of Sofokus Ventures, and they saw the potential in CaterMate and the team. In addition to this, serial entrepreneur Niklas Elomaa and finance professional and entrepreneur Andrei Maude completed the team with their extensive expertise. We now have a great core team full of top talent and the support of investors. Together, we can revolutionize the HoReCa industry - while respecting old traditions.
